About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, solutions focused Intermediate Web Developer / FrontEnd Developer / Digital Developer with WordPress or Shopify experience to join our collaborative, growth-oriented agency team. You’ll help design, build and maintain high quality websites for a wide range of B2B clients – from ambitious SMEs to global brands.
This role blends hands-on development with client-facing collaboration. You’ll work closely with designers, content creators and project managers to bring digital experiences to life, while also engaging directly with clients to understand their needs and present your work confidently.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Senior Designer and marketing team to deliver creative work to brief.
Website Development & Builds
- Develop responsive, accessible websites – primarily in WordPress, with additional development in HubSpot and Shopify.
- Build custom themes, templates and components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP, other languages may also be beneficial.
Optimisation, QA & Maintenance
- Conduct performance audits and implement improvements to speed, SEO, accessibility and overall UX.
- Carry out ongoing maintenance, updates and technical fixes.
- Test across devices/browsers and support QA processes.
Client Collaboration
- Join client meetings to discuss requirements, provide technical guidance, and translate ideas into practical solutions.
- Present, train customers on the website work deployed, prototypes and final builds to clients with clarity and confidence.
- Communicate technical concepts in a friendly, non-technical way.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to bring concepts to life with pixel perfect accuracy.
- Support content writers and strategists to ensure smooth CMS workflows.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure work is delivered on time and to high standards.
Person Specification
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in web development or front-end development.
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS (and/or SASS), JavaScript, and PHP.
- Solid experience building websites in WordPress.
- Comfortable working with Figma/Sketch designs and translating them into accurate builds.
- Understanding of responsive development, accessibility standards, and performance optimisation best practices.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Shopify templates.
- Experience with HubSpot CMS .
- Knowledge of build tools, automation or modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
- Experience in using source code repositories.
- Experience integrating third party APIs.
Recommended Education for This Role (Preferred but not mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as: Web Development / Computer Science / Digital Media – Digital Design / Software Engineering / Interactive Media
- Equally acceptable alternatives:
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., Level 3–5 Diploma in Web Development, Software Development, Digital Media).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating real-world web development projects, especially WordPress/Shopify/HubSpot builds.
- Industry certifications, such as:
- HubSpot CMS Developer Certification
- Shopify Partner Academy courses
- WordPress development courses (Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, etc.)
